Butera v DPP (1987) 164 CLR 180

Facts: Defendant (D) was charged with conspiracy to traffick drugs. Prosecution (Pr) had what they argued was a recorded conversation of the Ds talking about trafficking drugs. The recording was unclear and in several languages. Pr played the recording for the jury, but also gave them a transcript of the recording. Further, they provided translations of the recording and a transcript of those translations.
