Facts: Defendant (D) (CMG) was convicted of 3 charges of indecent assault against a child under 16. The alleged offences occurred when D was entrusted with the care of a 7 year old girl (the complainant; C) to whom he was distantly related by marriage. C had informed her mother a day or two after and she reported the matter to police. D called no evidence. The prosecution’s case depended upon the jury accepting C’s evidence.
