Crofts v The Queen (1996) 186 CLR 427

Facts: Defendant (D) (Crofts) was convicted of child sexual abuse. The offences were alleged to have been committed between 1987–1993. The complainant (C) first told her mother of the sexual assault in June 1993 (6 years from the first count of indictment and 6 months after the last count). C (a minor) did not complain at the earliest reasonable opportunity that she was sexually assaulted.
