Dodds v The Queen (2009) 194 A Crim R 408

Facts: Police conducted surveillance of criminals (who were speaking in pig latin), later translated it and then made a statement. However, the statement was made 18 months after the surveillance. The appellant argued the requirement under s 33(2)(a) Evidence Act that the statement made by the police officer is at the time of or soon after the occurrence of the events was not satisfied.
