Longman v The Queen (1989) 168 CLR 79

Facts: Defendant (D) was convicted of 2 counts of sexual assault against his step daughter (C), which allegedly took place while she was asleep. C was 6yo at the time of the first offence and 10yo at the time of the second. C gave evidence that on each occasion she was asleep when assaulted, woke up and pretended to remain asleep. The only evidence of guilt was the oral evidence of C. She made a complaint 22 years later.
