R v Wiggins (No 7) [2022] NSWSC 1249

Facts: Wiggins (Defendant; D) was charged with murder and intentional GBH. He had priors for violence (3 assaults occasioning ABH, affray), a long-term association with bikie gangs & the prosecution (Pr) had telephone evidence implicating him in uncharged acts of violence. D sought to raise good character evidence in 4 particular respects: lacked convictions for drug offences, firearms offences, criminal group offences and dishonesty offences. D submitted that if he only led evidence re lack of convictions, Pr would be limited to evidence re prior convictions for the same conduct.
