Sio v The Queen [2016] HCA 32; (2016) 259 CLR 47

Facts: Defendant (D) (Sio) was convicted of armed robbery and wounding of a brothel employee. His co-D fatally stabbed someone with a knife when trying to rob the building. Prosecution (Pr) tried to compel co-D but he refused to answer any questions. They used statements made in an electronically recorded interview instead (i.e. hearsay).
