Smethurst v Commissioner of Police (2020) 94 ALJR 502; [2020] HCA 14

Facts: Police raided Smethurst’s, a journalist, home, seized her phone and unloaded her data onto a USB stick. They were trying to identify the source of a leak from the government. The raid and seizure were held unlawful because the warrant was invalid. She sought a mandatory injunction to get back the USB stick and her data.
